Can we kindly be educated on what this good fellow has done for the people
he has been representing? What good policies have been put in Uganda due to
him? What has he been standing for? Was he a left or a right minded, who was
MP Michael Oromait? And I am asking these questions for the position of MP
in Uganda is starting to become the most ridiculous position where people
get so much money without doing a good damn thing. A position of MP is to go
out there in your constituency and bringing the interests of your people to
the parliament to be put into law. And I am continuing to get reports that
many of these dead woods that are so pathetically rich than many of their
citizens simply sit in parliament and literary sleep. When an MP dies this
is the time we all stand up and list the achievements he has made, and today
it is the time we have to list the benefits of the people of Usuk from this
dead fellow. Again my question becomes who is Michael Oromait?

And Ki Luts yes this is the right time to ask these questions for since he
died all I am seeing is the usual naïve messages being posted of we have
lost a great man. Look Michael is not our relative he is not our friend, for
his relatives and friends yes have every right to post such condolences, we
are Ugandans and he has been one of our governors and we need to know what
exactly he has done to change our country, let alone his constituency, and
the more postings that pop up about him the more I fail to see if our
Shillings were spent to their worth. But this is not only good to us as
Ugandans but it puts a good example to the rest of the dead woods we have in
that parliament to question themselves their worth in that house. If I die
today as an MP what will be written on my obituary? When we fail to hold
them accountable and we simply dump money to them, money they spend as
drunken sailors then we ourselves have to blame. And this is the very reason
I have decided to cut myself out of the election crap of so and so has won
and so and so has lost, for what is the value of these MPs? Ugandans only
limit their political following on who has won and who has lost and as soon
that is done the political zeal dies. Trust me the name of MP Nsubuga is now
done in this forum for you will never hear it again until when he is
announced dead. Then the Ki Luts are going to show up crying how he has been
a great man, but today when we should question his achievements in
parliament no one even cares to do so. We have discussed Uganda political
issues in this forum many many years, how many times have we discussed
Michael Oromait to be worth a single condolence? A man dies in Katakwi and
he has to be dragged all way down to Mulago for an autopsy, what does that
tell you about his being an MP in a region? And listen to how shallow
Ugandans are, they have dragged him from Katakwi to Mulago, they are going
to do the autopsy in Mulago then drag him back to the family in Katakwi, and
three days later drag him back to Kampala. Why? There is a state funeral
that the family wants, so that all nieces and concubines show up in Kampala
and sit with him in parliament where he has been sleeping for all years yet
get paid well. Do you blame them? How can Obwangor get it and Oromait fails
to?

It is very strange that the only man asked what he did for Uganda is AMO,
not Sir Edward Mutesa not Iddi Amin not Binayisa not Yusuf Lule not Tito
Okello not the presidential commission it is only AMO and what the heck did
he do for Uganda?

I just get very tired of dealing with small brains. Geez !!!!!!!!!

On loss is one too many. As John Donne said, "Every man's death diminishes

Abdul Nassar,

It is yet another loss to the people of us: first Mzee Obwangor passed
on;next came Prof. Jethro Opolot and now MP Oromait.May God rest their souls
in eternal peace.

The MP for Usuk County in Katakwi district, Hon Micheal Oromait has died.

District Medical Officer of Katakwi, Dr Simon Icumar Omeke confirmed that
the legislator died in Katakwi hospital Saturday morning at around 3:30am.

He was admitted to the regional hospital after he had collapsed and lost
consciousness.

Dr Ichumar says the medics at the health facility to tried to bring him
back to consciousness but failed. His heart had stopped beating.

The in-charge at Katakwi hospital, Dr Andrew Katawera, said Oromait's body
has been taken to Mulago Hospital in Kampala for an autopsy.

Meanwhile the legislator's nephew, Titus Ongodia said that on his way from
Kampala to Katakwi Friday, his uncle branched off to his home in Jinja. He
had breakfast and then headed for Soroti.

He picked up two people from Soroti town who wanted to be dropped at Usuk
subcounty headquarters, it is reported.

On reaching Arapai subcounty along Soroti/Katakwi road, the deceased MP went
behind the wheels after his uncle Daniel Otok.

Olomait is said to have driven up to Usuk subcounty headquarters where he
dropped the two people before losing control while trying to negotiate a
corner.

He developed some severe headache, it isreported, which might have led to
the collapse that led to his death.

Doctors at Katakwi hospital pronounced him dead in the wee hours of Saturday
morning.
