At that time he used to invite senior journalists who were grouped in our Association known as UNEPA. He used to give us a full day at State House Entebbe. We would then discuss with him about any subject on this earth, and he would answer instantly. My most memorable discussion with him was(I forget the year) when I argued with him on the death sentence which had been passed on Alysious Ndibowa, Joseph Mukasa and Davies Sssozi. I told him they were wrongly accused, convicted and sentenced to death. I told him it was his intelligence network, composed of Kasirye Gwanga and others, which cooked the plot, seduced the Ssozis and led them to execute it. But, it was never their original idea. M7 listened to me very attentively. I convinced him. Their conviction was quashed. And those boys were released within a week. Later on I convinced Museveni to allow Uganda Ministry of Information to start live TV and Radio Discussions and Talk Shows. My argument was that in the USA, where I had spent three years at the university, radio and TV shows were live and that is why the US economy was progressing. He instructed the Ministry to allow us to start these shows and consequently, I, Drake Ssekeba and Tamale Mirundi pioneered what today you know as Radio and TV Talks Shows. The first live TV show was called FACE THE PRESS. They are still going on. However, the meetings with M7 stopped, perhaps at the advice of people like Moses Byaruhanga who don,t believe in press freedom. Kaliisa was knighted by the Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru with Bunyoro-Kitara's highest knighthood of OMUJWARAKONDO which is given only to people who have performed extra-ordinary feats for the kingdom. Kaliisa is recognised both by the Omukama and Museveni for being a most capable Oil/Petroleum explorer/discoverer. Hence, I am sure people like him will put aside their cowardice and tell Museveni to make sure the refinery is constructed. By the way Tullow, CNOOC and Total, the partners in Uganda's Oil Production Programme are saying no oil production will take place unless the refinery is in place. So, when you say the refinery will never take off it is like you are saying Uganda's oil production will never take place. Hence let us wait and see.
