So Ssabassajja was carried in public out of his character for he was forced
by these poor Baganda. Great as the Tutsi King used to spit in the mouths of
lined up squatting Hutus which was never in his interest. Do you know what
happened in Rwanda to pay for such stupid old customs? The Rwandese
genocide.
Gees am I regarded this shallow !!

I have visited people much older than me and they embarrass me by going on
their knees to greet me. Some clever man here on UAH might read that as me
asking those people to kneel.
Back in 1989, before the Kabaka was enthroned parents, including mine, in
their wisdom, organised that we welcome the Kabaka (or prince as he was
then) on arrival at Heathrow Airport and asked us to kneel when we greeted
him. For the grown-ups they did their thing. The Kabaka looked shocked (may
be embarrassed) by our gesture and asked all of us to stand up. I understand
since then he does not announce arrival times any more - ofcourseI stand to
be corrected.
The point here is that he does not ask or decree rather he is told that is
what the people want. To refuse or reject the gesture would come across as
contempt for culture of which he is custodian.
I hope that helps the gentlemen who were offended after all they are not the
first to speak in ignorance.

Folks;
With all due respect, why does Kabaka Mutebi perpetuate this primitive
subjugation of hapless citizens into carriages? He has no rival for the
throne, he's well liked by his people and can choose any Ganda woman he
pleases. So, why this show of popularity in such moronic manner?
