Lutimba Matovu
If these are Rwandese that died in genocide, does that justify it? We have
a continent that is failing to move for we waste the brains that would have
built it. And that is where my argument on African issues really come in by
backwards from many of you, when I look at that photograph I do not worry
about it for it is in Uganda or Rwanda but I worry about the would have been
brain surgeons that we have destroyed in that photograph. I worry about the
would have been pilots we have wasted, I worry about would have been great
professors we have destroyed in that photograph. Those brains would have
enriched our region even if they served in Rwanda or Uganda. Lutimba every
single expatriate you see in Uganda today is not in Uganda for we are too
dumb to do what he/she does but he/she is replacing the man power we simply
harvest as we did to these people and we simply erase them off earth. Had
that expatriates country also erased him/her off earth, where would Uganda
be today? The company I work for got a sectional manager last week and is
stationed in Mexico. So I am working in Toronto under a sectional manager
that sits in Mexico and he has never even stepped into this country as I do
not even expect him to for he does not need to. Go back into that photograph
and wonder how valuable those brains would have been to Uganda based on the
closeness of Uganda and Rwanda, then stand up to praise God for these are
not Ugandans so they do not matter. And hta t is how our thinking must be
transformed. They do sir and the photograph was justified to be made public
for it tells me as a Ugandan in diaspora why our countries are third world.
Let me touch on the Ugandans arrested in the Kampala riots again.
It gets to my nerve why politicians fail to sort out very simple issues,
people were arrested in Kampala and stored. I rose on many times and
requested Kale Kayihura to see mercy into his office and get these people
released. Luzira is not a dormitory but a very terrible jail. Kayihura on
all times has rejected to respond to that issue of greater importance. And
why am I raising it? Not for I am a Mengo fanatic, but I have been stored in
Makindye before, and what Kayihura does not understand is the way it
affected me in my entire life and the way it affected those I cared for. Of
what value is storing these people? Uganda government is not even
constitutionary empowered to hold them, and what is the larger damage that
can be made to society if they are released? But what is happening to their
children today for example who takes care of them? Doesnt Uganda government
recognize that it is creating a future time bomb by holding the parents of
these kids? Why do we go through exercises like constitutional reforms and
writing new constitutions as if the one we had was written wrongly? Is it
the manner at which a constitution is written or the way we implement it in
the country? For either way you look at it, the last constitution same as
this one does not allow storage of people in Luzira yet they are, so why did
we go through the stupid exercise? You are getting people angry at the
government on such a silly issue made by a shallow reasoning. And Lutimba
Matovu no the people that were arrested in Kampala riots were not Rwandese
but Ugandans and arrested in Kampala the capital city of Uganda. So do not
even go there.
By this writing, I am again requesting the IG to use his good office and
release the people that were arrested in Kampala riots. And Gen. Kayihura we
can only respectfully ask you sir.

genocide victims. Which police station is it? Why can't he tell us? Be
