On this information add as well that aircrafts cleared to land into Toronto
are not given gates to disembark, so you land and get stored within your
aircraft. At the size of this airport, this is hurting a whole bunch of
people both waiting in the aircraft and those picking them up. We think that
there is so much snow that the gates cannot be accessed so they decided to
shut it down for now. And if you know Pearson, it naturally has winds and
you can hold workers out there for only that long.

All this evening, we have started to get very continuous reports of air
crafts getting stranded into person airport. We have started to get phone
calls of passengers that were cleared to fly out of Pearson and their
flights were cleared they went through security and boarded only to be stuck
on air crafts not moving. There are passengers that have been on flights for
11 hours, 5 hours and I just talked to passenger that has been on a flight
for 6 hours. It is midnight in the city so we cannot reach any authority to
know what is going on in Pearson, but un confirmed sources indicate that the
airport has got so much snow that it simply cannot move the aircrafts. Now
why the passengers cannot be allowed to off board is what I am not getting
an answer to. A GTAA {Greater Toronto Aviation Authority} source that does
not want to be named is stating that actually Pearson International airport
has declared its self a term called A Ground Stop which means that
aircrafts are not allowed to land let alone take off on Pearson. How long
this status will remain in effect is not clear but we are being informed
that at least 30 air buses, which had stalled passengers were in visual of
the contact we talked to. And I understand all this is not making sense to
you for it is just a collection of information as we get it, but use it as a
guide if you are flying out in or through Toronto Pearson. We have a huge
snow to deal with and the winds are not helping either.
You are on your own. Geez !!!!!!
