It is very strange how Museveni galvanized all these brains, in all those
that he killed in Mucwiini, how many minutes did Museveni spend to send
grievances? Does Olara Otunnu hold a single tape of those condolences? A
verse clearly states, “And I will strike the shepherd and the Sheep will go
asunder” When Otunnu goes on knees for Amos Kaguta passed away you realize
the loss Uganda got when AMO passed away. Very strange how AMO has become
more powerful dead than alive for this is sheer stupidity. Had it been
Museveni dead one wonders if Acholis would ever go to work, they would
probably hold a 5 year period of lamenting.

Let Museveni lead you all your lives man !!!!!!

Eun,

In diplomacy, death and burials are often used to bring warring parties; so
there is nothing unique about what Amb. Otunnu has done. If you so wish to
read more on the diplomacy, I can gladly recommend some literature for you;
just let me know and I will quote for you.

Have a good night.

“I salute Mzee Kaguta for a long and fruitful life, well-lived. I especially
pay tribute to him for what turned out to be his unique gift to our country.

“He brought forth and nurtured the young man that would become the future
president of the republic,” the former UN Under-Secretary General and
Special Representative for Children in Armed Conflict noted.

IN SUMMARY

He said the land was protected by the Constitution and that President
Museveni has no legal authority to take it.

UPC president Olara Otunnu and DP leader Norbert Mao have urged Amuru
residents not to sign an agreement to lease their land for sugar cane
growing.

The politicians said the demand by Madhvani to acquire more than 40,000
hectares for sugar cane growing is a well-orchestrated move to grab land.
Addressing some of the 300 landlords of Lakang and Kololo Village in Amuru
Sub-county on Sunday, Mr Mao and Mr Otunnu urged residents to remain calm
and wait for the Court of Appeal to hear the case.
“The court and Parliament are just witnesses to our struggle, the biggest
contest is with the land owners,” Mr Otunnu said.

He said the land was protected by the Constitution and that President
Museveni has no legal authority to take it.

President Museveni has in the past criticised politicians for frustrating
investment, including the Amuru sugar cane project.

Mr Mao scoffed at last year’s ruling by the High Court in Gulu that the land
is public hence should be given for cane growing.

“What annoyed me was failure by the judge to include in the ruling, the
suffering of the people in the camp,” Mr Mao said.

The leaders also say there is high interest in the land because it
reportedly lies in an oil belt.

When contacted for a comment, information minister Karooro Okurut referred
this reporter to the Lands ministry.

Otunnu mourns Mzee KagutaPublish Date: Feb 25, 2013

By Moses Walubiri

Dr. Olara Otunnu has joined Ugandans of all political shades in mourning the
passing of President Yoweri Museveni’s father, Mzee Amos Kaguta, whose death
was announced Friday morning.

He specially lauded him for his positive influence “on the young man that
would become the future president of the republic.”

In his letter to the president dated February 22, the president of the
opposition party Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) paid homage to Mzee Kaguta
for “a long and fruitful life, describing him as “a family patriarch.”

“At this time of great loss and pain in your family, I convey to you my
expression of personal sorrow and fellowship. My thoughts and prayers are
with you personally and with the entire Kaguta family,” Otunnu’s letter – in
which he addressed Museveni as “brother Yoweri” – reads in part.

He added: “And I know from your personal testimonies that his influence and
strength of personality have left indelible impact on your life.”

Otunnu also entreated the “good Lord” to cover the entire Kaguta family with
his love and solace during the “difficult period of bereavement and sorrow.”

The UPC leader is an unwavering critic of the ruling NRM government, and he
has on many occasions accused it of war crimes allegedly committed during
attempts to quell the protracted Joseph Kony-led LRA insurgency in Northern
Uganda.

Kaguta, 96, who was buried on Sunday at his home in Rwakitura, Nshwere in
Kiruhura district, passed away at the International Hospital Kampala.

Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete, who currently chairs the East African
Community (EAC), attended the burial.
