To those following Canadian country singers be informed that while we were
asleep, Rita McNeil passed away from complications after surgery. In the
very many songs Rita has given us especially in Christmas songs, she made a
name with the following songs, Working man, Flying on your own, Reason to
believe, I will accept the Roses tonight and Home I will be. McNeil won 3
Junos, she produced about 24 albums and so many country music awards, a
member of The Order of Canada and a recipient of five honorary degrees. As
the day breaks more detailed information about Rita will be posted when
released but that is the little I can put forward just off my head. Again
while we were asleep, Rita McNeil passed away after complication of surgery.
