Based on the massive problems we have in the country, just how did this
become a priority to a point of getting a loan? The answer is that no it
never became a priority but many times I have questioned the housing boom in
Uganda and how it cannot be justified given the economic stagnation of the
country. And I opine that the houses you see in Uganda is from money stolen
by Ugandans from government agencies. So the government creates stupid
reasons as this one, it gets a loan out of The World Bank and Kateregga
Ahmed pays the 5 Ton cement he needs for his two story building. And the
cycle continues as the nation debt grows. Let me emphasize that as much as
Museveni and The Movement are corrupt, much of the money stolen out of
Uganda is stolen by Ugandans, and it is used for personal private
investment, housing being a major chunk. And I again opine that it is a must
that next government in Uganda investigates the owners of these massive
houses in Uganda, if you have one of them we need to know what was your
income to build such a massive house in Uganda. Many of these buildings and
nice homes you see in Uganda must be nationalized for they were built in
money borrowed abroad to buy an Aspirin in Mulago.
And that same stand must follow farms and businesses.
