A Smiths Falls, Ont., woman is facing charges of sexual assault after
allegedly touching a disabled man in his apartment in September.
A woman entered the Smiths Falls apartment unit through an unlocked patio
door at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 17, according to Smiths Falls police.
The victim was lying on his bed. The suspect approached and began touching
his groin, police said.
The suspect prevented him from getting out of bed until a roommate stepped
in. The roommate's arms were scratched and she was pushed into a wall by the
suspect, police said.
The suspect then stole a pack of cigarettes and left.
A 27-year-old Smiths Falls woman is facing charges of breaking and entering,
sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault and theft under $5,000.
The woman was already in custody for allegedly causing a disturbance in her
apartment building earlier the same day, police said.
At about 10 a.m. "she was heard wandering the halls yelling and then later
she was found outside banging on patio doors," according to a Smiths Falls
police news release.
Police found the woman in her apartment and arrested her on charges of
causing a disturbance and breaching probation.
She was in custody when the second set of complaints were filed.
