That was a discussion between two friends that were non critical thinkers
and you were not alone in that class. If you followed Museveni from Uganda
to TZ and if you read his University thesis as some of us did, one would
never argue on the man’s aspirations to be a president. There were very many
warning about this man, those warning were ignored from as low as John
Nsubuga to as high as AMO and as high as Oyite, had those warning been
listened to, Uganda would today be different from what it is. My stand on
Mugisha Muntonyera is based on his back ground and what he has managed to
accomplish let alone fail to. Take it seriously.

Given the statements you have availed into this forum it is interesting that
you have an Acholi as a friend.

Edward Mulindwa,

A Mucholi friend of mine (name withheld) once said "these Museveni bandits"
will never rule this country for as long as I'm alive. We were drinking in a
bar somewhere near market street Nakasero.

That was mid 1982, and Museveni is still his president.

And I will go on record that in our entire life time as a generation we will
never see FDC leading Uganda. In counting generation, I have three daughters
that have not given me grandkids yet, but till the death of those grandkids
we will not have a government established in Uganda by FDC.

Nyaro you can express your own feelings on your behalf but that at least
does not cover the opinion of FDC suporters nation wide whose "tribal"
divide is the main strength for removing the Rwakitura herdsman from State
house come 2016.

FDC is a party of change and what you have stated is in line with the
objectives of the party. My encounter with Wafula some years ago showed a
man of political integrity and a dedicated nationalist. With him FDC can
regain direction.

Peter,
I guess Wafula is a safe pair of hands. He is less ambitious compared to
Nandalla and Abdu Katuntu. Wafula is almost everyone,'s friend and more
approachable compared to the duo. He is not a threat to Muntu's political
ambitions if at all he has got any.

Cecilia Ogwal as chief whip is more like hiring the former Conservative
elder, Ken Clarke, as a cabinet minister. Everyone knows already what they
gonna get!

Muntu just shot himself in the ass by making the ridiculous change of guards
at the wrong time.

Folks;

How does this change affect Mugisha Muntu's fortunes in 2016?

I'd considered Mafabi to be an effective Leader of Opposition, who is
well-received by both sides. Bringing Cecilia Ogwal as Chief Whip may make
sense, because the Iron Lady is known for her combative but accommodating
approach to controversial issues.

Oguttu, on the other hand, comes across to me as a better backroom
negotiator than a leading rod who can galvanize the Opposition and marshall
his troops to face off with NRM numbers.

FDC President Mugisha Muntu has announced his plans to shake up the
leadership of the main opposition party.

He has told the National Executive Committee meeting now that he intends to
drop both the Leader of Opposition and Chief Nandala Mafabi (Budadiri) and
Chief Whip Winnie Kiiza (Kasese).

Nominated to replace the two according to sources are Wafula Oguttu (Bukholi
North) and Cecilia Ogwal (Dokolo).
