When Museveni builds a mind war that has started to make Ugandans plead for
regional army, you standup and bow to the old man. Which makes some of us
ponder for you see in the 70s we thought we had to build a continent by
building schools hospitals train systems communication systems and educating
our people than turning them into Boda Boda operatives. Yet in 2014 Ugandans
plead for regional armies and turning every one into a killing mobster. And
here is where this discussion becomes very complex. Edward Pojim says that
we have to build a massive army in Africa to become a developed continent,

What is the difference between Museveni and Pojim? And just asking

nominal rebel leader Riek Machar in the northern oil-producing state of
Unity, a spokesman for the rebels said on Sunday.

tactical importance, the spokesman said, accusing Kiir of having merely
derived satisfaction from destroying Machars hometown.
Meanwhile, an advance team of monitors sent by east African nations arrived
in South Sudan on Sunday to set up a mission tasked with observing a shaky
ceasefire agreed by government and rebel forces.
The warring sides signed the ceasefire on Jan.23 to end weeks of fighting,
but sporadic clashes have continued, underlining the challenge regional
mediators face when peace talks resume in neighbouring Ethiopia next week.
Diplomats expect the monitors will focus on the three flashpoint towns of
Malakal and Bentiu, near the countrys main oilfields and Bor, where some of
the heaviest clashes have occurred, and the capital Juba. We will start our
mission, at least the teams will be deployed, within the next week, General
Gebreegzabher Mebrahtu, a retired Ethiopian General who is leading the
advance team, told reporters in Juba.
The teams first task was to meet government officials and non-state
organisations and conduct recces of possible areas for deployment, the
regional IGAD grouping, which brokered the truce, said in a statement.
Machar on Friday accused Kiir of sabotaging the peace talks and waging a
campaign of ethnic cleansing, in an interview at his bush hideout in remote
Jonglei state.
