Rebels wont participate in South Sudan polls - Kiir

President Salva Kiirs spokesperson has said a rebel group waging war
against the democratically elected government of South Sudan will not be
allowed to participate in the April 2015 polls.
Everybody who wants to contest against President Kiir will do so except
those who took up arms against the government, Mr Ateny Wek Ateny told
journalists at Ugandas Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Kampala.
He added: For Dr Riek Machar to run, he has to denounce violence and it
will be the people of South Sudan to determine whether to give him amnesty
or not.
Mr Ateny also confirmed that President Kiir will be seeking a re-election
for a second and final term in 2015. The elections will take place as
scheduled and President Kiir is entitled to seek a second term (and will
seek it) just like in western democracies the US or UK and he will contest
to run until 2020, Mr Ateny said confirming the touchy political scheming
that sparked off the chaos that degenerated into war on December 15, last
year.
