I am sorry if what I have written has offended you. I do know that, the
ordinary baganda are just suffering for reasons they know nothing about. Its
the selfish politicians of buganda like Mayanja Nkangi who instead of
telling the late Kabaka of Buganda the truth, he choose to lie. This, had
put our country to the present situation. Infact I support your idea,
baganda should be given a chance to vote on the issue of Federalism. Instead
of politicians like Betty and others are aggitating for it. May be that way,
the problem of uganda and buganda can be solved once and for all.
But, when the Kabaka of Buganda go again and sign a secret MoU, with
Museveni the same way he did in Luweero, it make some of us become
suspicious. It seems, the throne of the Kabaka of Buganda is more important
than the suffering of the people of uganda. This, include the ordinary
baganda who every day toil in the hot sun to get one meal a day for their
children. Instead of relying on Mengo, ordinary baganda should decide on the
issue of Federalism through vote.
So, EM its baganda like you who should begin to aggitate for a referendum in
buganda for ordinary people to decide rather than collecting opinion from
them (Odoki style). That could be intimidating to the ordinary baganda.

As a Muganda that has never elected any one in Mengo to represent my
interests, when I read your writing lumping me up with brain deads like
Mayanja Nkangi I get very offended. If what you are stating in true and if
this is what we as Baganda are asking for, let Mengo stand up and state
where and how we as Baganda made all these demands. The noise of Federalism
is coming from Kabaka who himself personally has to gain the most, and it
comes from Ugandans like WBK and Betty Kamya who have already eaten from any
political loose change that shows up in Uganda from any circles. If the
change is in DP WBK shows up if it is in Federalism he makes the headlines.
What all of you have failed to realize is that we as Baganda are victims to
this Federalism nonsense, for we have never been allowed to vote on it let
alone to hold a referendum on it. When a political party to sell it KY was
started it died, that should have sent a clear message to anyone with a head
above his/her shoulder.
Stop to use Baganda when you have never got a mandate from them to do so.

When have you really hear of FEDERALISM? You seem to think, FEDERALISM or
FEDERO is the alfa and omega or a bullet that when shot, will solve the
problem of uganda once and for all. Instead, its on the contrary, Ugadna
started in 1962 with Federal states and some districts. Instead of the
FEDERALISM solving the problem of uganda, it aggravated it. We are in this
situation because the Federal States of Buganda where the Capital City was
and is to date. So, afte the Referandum of 1964 which was constitutionally
stipulted, the King of Buganda, the head of the Federal states of Buganda,
refused to pen his signatur on the outcome of the Referandum. So, what did
Federalism played here? It gave the Kabaka of Buganda the power to reject
the out come of the referendum this because , Buganda is his state, no one
can force him or aske him to sign any a result that is against his interest
and the interest of Buganda. Where did we end, Unitary where ugandan at
least enjoyed peace and for some times though Baganda were always agitating
for Kingdom which M7 gave them the moment he came to power. Todate, they are
still crying for the same.
Akim, so long as Kampala still remain the Capital of Uganda, even though you
grant Federalism to buganda now, expect more demmands. The only solutions I
see in the situation Uganda is in today are: First, all must join hand to
remove M7 and his NRA/M regime. The second is for ugandans to handle the
issue of buganda not by hiding behind any thing. If baganda will want to
remain part of Uganda under Federalsim, the Capital City should not be in
their land. But, should they opt to secede, the rest of ugandans should give
them a big GO AHEAD. Its better we live in a small and poor country with
peace than living in a big and trouble some country like uganda. Buy every
time denying Buganda what they want, make them feel they are very important.
Instead, by granting them what they want, will make none of us their
enemies. Instead, they will begin to find enemies among themselves in the
Kingdom, that is when they will realised the important of being under One
Uganda, One People. When a woman always say that, if my husband tell me to
go to may people, I will leave at once. But, the day the man say so, she
will try to find other excuses so as to delay the going. The moment ugandans
tell baganda go, the situation will change. Some will say not, some will say
yes that is when they will become their own enemies. For God and My Country.
