If you put a referendum in Buganda today for secession it cannot pass. Don’t
write books based on small minds, people love Uganda and will defend it, and
anytime any one threatens to throw in a referendum, go for it. And trust me we
have travelled that path with Quebec for a while.
Don’t walk in fear if Baganda want a referendum to secede let them bring it on.

But, sir, if the referendum would be about whether or not to stay in Uganda,
why would Buganda choose Federalism? Is Federalism the same as secession?

EM,
Putting a federal referendum in Buganda to decide whether to stay in a united
Uganda, is like putting a referendum to the people of Crimea to decide whether
they vote to stay in Ukraine, or succede to Russia.
The people of Buganda will overwhelmingly vote for federalism.
As a Muganda of mixed heritage, and with children of gretaer mixed heritage, I
would support the Baganda position, with eservations, emphasing the important
of Uganda/ African nationalism.

Let us put a Federalism referendum into Buganda, so we limit Uganda government
out of it and allow Mengo to run it and we get the results, all I Need is a
vote from the people youa re trying to dump Federalism into sir.
How about that?

EM,
With the record set straight through education, over time, our people from Arua
down to Kisoro will understand the need to reduce central government.
You simply don't throw a referendum to the Kampala, Kampala, Kampala obsessed
people with telling them the truths. The truths are that we are stagnant for
the last 50 years. The people fighting to be in Kampala, have not done much to
develop the rest of te country, but individual selves.
We (as ugandans) all have to remind ourselves, in case we forget, that we are
first of all Africans. We should all fight to get this sunken continent to
float.

Let us throw a referendum into Uganda and ask Ugandans to vote on it.

Akim,
There are two main arguments on federalism in Uganda. Those of us saying that
we will be better off under federalism, having removed the cog in the
corruption wheel, central government. On the opposite of the argumrnt are those
insisting that things stay as they are, and continue sinking together.
The apathy towards federalism, that is normally demonstrated by the anti
federalists is rooted in today's personal material gains, economic prospects
and tangible quantitative aspects. That is why, when one talks about
federalism, they will jump up and say, 'all Ugandans contributed to the
building of Kampala'. It is never the interest in how can we stand singularly
as regions, and unite as one nation to move productively forward.
On the other hand, the federalists are saying that the only way to create
durable economic prosperity for all Ugnadans, is to disrupt the corruption at
the centre of government.
Whereas the federalists are strongly led by the emotional aspects, - despairing
at 50 years of stagnation in all spheres of lives, the anti federalists
continue to bury their head in 'materialistic' sand.

Captain Rashid;
I don't need new ideas. It said if it aint broken, why fix it? The idea we have
is the right idea, it hasn't broken, it's on course and still valid. It an idea
that cannot be surpassed by any other new idea. So the question of idea running
out is hot air.
Captain Rashid bridge? I wouldn't even name a kasasiro after Captain Rashid. No
offence meant! lol

Look at this Captain Rashid or Rashid Captain bridge- it sounds so nice and

With federalism I highly doubt the government would be able to fulfill its
pledges to the people.
Akim it seems you have run out of Ideas

fulfilled, in Lira District, the President had in the 2011 election campaigns
promised a bridge - Kaguta Bridge, which to-date had never been worked on.
