*Re: Stephen Hawking is simply amazing* Stephen Hawking, in his latest book *"My Brief History, Stephen Hawking"*mentions having met only one good Maths teacher in his schooling days.
The rest; especially the Physics Professors etc...none stands out with any decent Mathematics. He is amazed that he survived them all. Current Educators would be daft to disregard this. (Even Albert Einstein was always humble enough to realize the paucity of his Maths skills.) And to write his most important work, "Large Scale Structure of Space-time" Stephen Hawking had to 'run away' from the Physics Dept At Cambridge, he had torun away from the Univ of Cambridge Dept Applied Maths i.e. Dept of Mathematical Physics. The Dept where he went, the only Dept he felt fit where to write his book was the Dept of Pure Mathematics at Cambridge. That is where he wrote *"Large Scale Structure of Space-time"* *He says it is the last word on the subject. The last word on Cosmology.* (Mine is the last word on this subject he says). Besides blasting Physics teachers and Professors he also blasts us parents too. His dad who advised him not to study Maths; that to study Maths, you become just a mere poor Teacher. So to attract Maths Teachers folks we must better their conditions and offer adequate compensation. Thank you. Mitayo Potosi ===========
