It is has wide application, understanding the large scale structure of the Universe (or universes), Thermonuclear reactions, Hydrogen bombs, and most importantly for humanity, Controlled fusion energy sources.What effort we ask are Ugandan Law Professors and Students devoting on matters of Science and Maths!!Barack Obama is not unique in this line of Legal Education and Training. By the time he was assassinated, President Lincoln, a Lawyer too, had finished working through the first six out of the thirteen books of Euclidean Geometry!!.Indeed, to me, the DE-coupling of Law, Science and Maths seems only a recent practice. May be many Lawyers have become lazy. But they miss beauty, competence and logic at its best !!* *Take Pierre de Fermat, 1601-1665. A very prominent Lawyer and Jurist, co-inventor with Descartes, of co-ordinate geometry. He was a very prolific Number Theorist, and more.... this Pierre de Fermat. * *And then Lagrange. He graduated from Law School as his Dad was squandering the family fortune. And so this Lawyer, Lagrange, got a job as Instructor at The Turin Academy of * *Artillery.That is where Lagrange became even greater than Newton himself. A non professional Mathematician, Lagrange has a fresh style of writing Mathematical Physics, like that of a child. Very beautiful!! And easy too.* *(Lagrange kept bad company, with Marie * *Marie Antoinette and King Louis the 1st. Lagrange was the only Scientist that was excused at the guillotine... But he later married 'ekyaana' ekiyitirivu, and he enjoyed until the end of his life....* *He should be the Patron Saint of Ugandan Lawyers, this Lagrange, that is if we wanted role models!!* *When hardly any of our Lawyers, as Hon Norbert Mao has pointed out, can read let alone write or craft a contract for our Natural Resources then we are in trouble.
