they are realizing that Uganda 's enemy is the Iddi Amin’s government,
therefore they have to join hands in Moshi and increase numbers and further
show their disgust with the regime.

Does that sentence sound familiar? Have we lived this life before? Why did it
fail then and why should it survive today?

Mr.Mulindwa

Thanks for your analysis, you are not far from the truth.Precisely what do you
want the UPCs and opposition parties to do ?they are realising that Uganda 's
enemy is the Movement (NRM party),therefore they have to join hands and
increase numbers and further show their disgust with the regime.

On the electrol commission ,you are right.DP's Brenda Nabukenya means the
elections are relatively free and fair, that tantamount to President Museveni
and NRM giving the opposition rope to hang themselves.About the policy
issues, you cant have policies when you dont have a democratic state. Most so
called policies are dictated by NRM and their majority number

Let us keep pushing for electrol reforms so that the people can fairly vote
their leaders they will hold accountable

I am holding a provincial election come 12th June 2014, we are in a campaign
marathon as I post this writing. We have three major parties and this is what
they’re selling out there, The Conservative want to cut the civil servants by I
think 10%, they want to stop corporate welfare and create a million jobs. The
Liberal we are targeting to create jobs by revitalizing old schools roads
bridges we need to start a provincial retirement benefit program, The NDP wants
to hand 1200 dollars to every parent and those taking care of the old people,
cut the auto insurance by 15% and cut education money. I have just gone through
them quickly so I have left out very many other issues because I have only seen
the NDP platform which is 11 pages, the Liberals and Conservative platforms are
not yet out or I have not physically read them. But that is how clear are the
policies sold today. I have followed this election and now waking up to
everyone opening the bottle of Champaign for Brenda has won the election, I
have no single clue why she stood for, let alone a single policy she has sold
to win this election, because she campaigned to remove Museveni which is never
a political policy.

Secondly it simply beats my mind how everyone believes that DP is a good party
to win the election do you know the DP policy and do you support it? To those
who are UPC members in this forum posting congratulations, is this woman going
to push your party policies? How do you support a member of another party to
win and you congratulate her when she is supposed to oppose your own party?
Does that make sense to you and if she is good enough for DP why isn’t she good
enough for NRM? Lastly on this point I have argued always that what we need is
to remove presidential elections and only elect MPs and the party with more MPs
creates the government, but that must mean as well that all party leaders must
be MPs. Because you failed to follow my advice get educated that even if you
get all Movement MPs un elected, Museveni will still remain the president. How
is this winning of a value to you?

Lastly the opposition has always made a very good case that they need an
electoral reform in Uganda and they have sold that story very widely including
to international community. I believed it too for I think we need it. Brenda’s
winning has just demonstrate that the electoral reforms sell was a stupid idea
and it has just been pissed on. You simply cannot stand in a country where DP
can stand and be allowed to win, and claim that you have a terrible electoral
system and it needs to be reformed. This win means that Museveni and Uganda
Government are committed to democratic principles and the opposition has the
powers let alone constitutional protection to file candidates and they compete
but win. The opposition by this win has just pissed in their own plate and
Museveni has won 100%. You cannot claim that this election is un fair when you
are all standing on tree tops as Orangutans praising the win done under
Museveni and you succeed. This tells critical thinkers that actually Museveni
is a democratic man only that Ugandans are stupid that they always cry unfair
election when they so loose. My pray is that the next time a candidate loses
you will stand as an old man and still praise it for elections are about wining
and loosing.

I am congratulating The movement for being such a democratic organization and
to show such a high political maturity, let us all move on.
