A Secret Under The Table on Training Moderate Rebels in Syria
While Obama is folding up a grand coalition to counter ISIS, the Media seems
to have ignored an emphasis of the legitimacy of the intervention. How would
US and her allies leap the dictates of the UN chatter protecting the
sovereignty of member nations, to legitimize the war against ISIS
particularly in Syria? Such an intervention must be sanctioned by the UN; if
and only if world powers themselves obey international law, except my
knowledge of international law is so limited. But as history must have
revealed in the case of US previous erroneous invasion of Iraq, double
standards would certainly prevail again; and Russia and China have already
warned on this. Many allies had dragged their feet up until ISISs brutal
execution of a British hostage, which sparked an outburst of vengeful cries.
Who could have guessed that Assad would survive in Syria till today? Not
even the most militarily intelligent nation USA who after witnessing the
swift and sweeping revolution devastation through Tunisia, Libya and Egypt.
If Assad had been consistent on one thing, its the claim that he was facing
a group of terrorists, and not political protesters as was misunderstood
by the West in a blindfold of Arab allies. And now the world is
rediscovering afresh that they had miscalculated the dynamics in Syria
especially when they cannot ID the legitimate rebels. In fact, even if there
would appear the so called Moderates it would certainly be a new recruit.
In other words, Western Countries will go to Syria, galvanize its citizens,
finance, train and arm them against their government. One wonders what
constitutes the definition of foreign intervention, in sovereign
countries. When powerful nations do not have their way, they instigate
exiles of a nation to a revolt. When such rebels who are never in touch with
grassroots reality, are unable to topple the government, powerful nations
help them use force. But if there is any lesson to learn, its that even
when policies fail, the bully nations remain unrepentant, like the case in
Iraq, Syria, and Egypt. They continue to pursue a failed course after even
realizing that the track had been misunderstood.
Why has a war in Syria dragged on for three year plus? Its simply because
while nations sing human rights and humanitarianism, they love more the
dirges that come out of bereaved homes of over 190,000 souls. Yet in
stopping war, they encourage more killings. If the opposition was not
constantly being armed, Assad would have finished the War and fewer lives
would have been lost. If the Gadhafis were allowed to enter Benghazi, they
would have killed less people than the lives that were lost by NATO
intervention, and subsequent killings and continuous and unending chaos.
Hmmm you say that we have to train more soldiers, but we forget that
soldiers are simply trained to kill. No one reflects on the simplest way to
stop bloodshed. Its a fight of interests centered on pride, at the
expense of innocent human lives. I believe that if Western nations want
governments to take care of their people, they must be allowed to naturally
evolve; without pulls or pushes. These nations would create and solve their
problems, growing into maturity, while attending to global integration.
I also see certain issues hidden under the intervention table:
1. The plan to change the Assad regime still holds even though US and
her allies swear they wont attack Assad. If the rebels are to be trained,
and financed against the ISIS would the war between Syria and those rebels
be postponed, and for how long? Syria will hence be fighting not, only
against the rebels, but a coalition of US and her allies. It is unclear when
the West will determine that ISIS has been in fact defeated. Instead the
West predicts a long and endless encounter with an open end to insert the
Assad regimes wiping. Yes. Did we not witness, this type of trickery when
NATO had declared a no fly zone over Libya just to turn it into regime
change at execution? How would airstrikes be carried in a sovereign country
having legitimacy and control over her airspace? Assad is down if he allows
uncooperative and internationally non-compliant US and her allies to invade
Syrian Airspace with the pretext that they are fighting terrorists. If US
and her Allies really want Terrorists in Syria defeated without
international help and recalcitrance to international laws, they should stop
arming and training any rebels who are not even known, and allow Assad deal
with them. It may only take Assad two more years and fewer lives, than the
predicted long training, expensive and life-consuming war I see before me.
2. To train rebels, they have to be identified: finger-printed, listed,
birth certificates, and all forms of IDs recovered. This shall serve as a
big data base for western nations against counter terrorism in the future.
It may even land some of the rebels into trouble if they had once been
involved and suspected in any crimes. All these rag-tag rebels are wise.
They wont appear for training because in reality, they are moderates only
as long as US cooperates with them against Assad. After Assad has been
toppled, they will return into being themselves radical Islamists. What
criteria does the west use to determine any form of moderation or extremism?
For now I believe there is no true moderate Muslim among the fighters. Dont
you get it from the Islamic agenda included in the names of their brigades?
But it appears that many of them are shrugging the training when it is
reported that they instead want money and sophisticated weapons like
Tanks, anti-tanks, surface to air missiles etc; which the west is reluctant
to supply for fear that they may easily fall into extremist hands and would
be used as the case in Iraq.
3. I also see that US and her Allies have as a secondary agenda to
strengthen and support their Arab allies against their enemies. Saudi
Arabia, for example, is happy that she will stand tall against Iran and
others in some ways. So we are also observing a proxy war fueled by US and
her allies.
If this war in Syria will be long, it will be more because Russia, Iran and
the allies would vow to counterweight by increasing their arming of the
Syrian regime. Shall we stop the gambling on human life or continue? Even
the UN seems a toothless watch dog? Russia and China are waiting to veto any
move at UN Security Council. It is more complex to be involved than to watch
from afar with hands-off in Syria.

Ndugu OKURUT and UAH folks,
I am not looking point scoring. My concern is, will the weapons being given
to the Kurds be used properly? Take for example, when the CIA trained the
Arab Mujahedeen to fight the Russian troops in Afghanistan, they never
expected those trained persons by the US may not cause the 9/11 tragedies.
This is not just me condemning the US for nothing. You, see even you the
innocent person is being brutally being mistreated at the Airport whereby
you are being asked to undressed yourself to be checked.
This is the reason of my worry about American giving weapons to the Kurds
because one does not now how it would be used!

Ocaya pOcure,
What is the way forward? What do you propose because the lives of Iraqis
forced up the mountain are at stake. Who should stop the ISIS or should they
be allowed to do the "NOBLE" job of exterminating the minorities?

MULINDWA and UAH folks,
History, they say repeats itself. The US - CIA had constructed the Muslim
Mujahedin, which later turned to be al-Qaida today who fought the Russian
army in Afghanistan with the promise for freedom of Palestine from racist
type regime of Israel. When the Russian troops were forced out of
Afghanistan, the Americans reneged on the agreement to freedom of Palestine.
Remember, the blind Egyptian Muslim Mujahedin leader that was arrested in
New York for preaching anti-America when he was talking about the Agreement
on Palestine with the CIA?
TODAY, Americans are at it again trying to use its trick to give weapons to
Kurds without thinking how those weapons may not be turned against their
lovely political store in the Middle East! YES, Re-colonialism is being
built and the anti-Islam conveyors!
