Dan Bwanika
What John Nkuhe has done in Isingiro is the very cause of our failing in
Africa. And I have been fighting it with Rwandese in the Rwanda forum. We have
failed to build the continent for we spend 95% of our time copying what white
people have done. And look I was in Uganda and someone surprised me to a
restaurant that rotates, my God this is a great restaurant for you sit on your
table and the restaurant rotates. It is a very good idea and it is a luxurious
restaurant till when you realize that the only night I sacrificed to go into it
they had a power failure. So poor me from the far west failed to be rotated.
And that is the stupidity of Africans for the fool that copied such a
restaurant from The west failed to copy the things that were done before the
building of such restaurant into Toronto and other cities, to make us have
power 24 7. To degree holder Africans that is huge work and that is a huge
investment we will not do it we will only go with the end product which is a
rotating restaurant.
Canadians drive H2 Hummers we will import them to Uganda for they are good.
Well do you have a computer to even check if that vehicle has a good emission?
In United Kingdom Her Majesty has a palace so we have to build one for
Ssabassajja Mutebi in Bamunanika. Well Nabagereka is puking babies out of
Uganda, do all women of the royal family in UK puke babies out of Mulago? May
be they started by building hospitals and systems to run them then they built
the palaces? And just asking. And it goes on and on to copying titles, one
asked what is pon-potentially diplomatic, God I wish you know where they copied
that title from. When or at what point will we ever go to Africa and build it
from ground up? And that is all I am asking.
You know I wrote a piece in a Rwanda paper responding to a true Tutsi that was
preaching how every Rwandese kid has a lap top, and I asked a simple question,
when that kid goes home does she have a clean water to drink? He used the
tactic the Uganda narcissists do in UAH when you ask them straight questions
they throw their heads into the sand so that you go away. African friends, I
have lived a great deal in this society and I have seen a great amount of
diseases that we never had in our countries, for we eat well we exercise well,
we have clean water from the stream to drink and our continent is not that
polluted. You are throwing computers into villages way before you establish how
to remove them from the homes when old how to recycle them let alone how to
dispose them off. 5 years down the road when Nkuhe is dead, you are going to
have such a massive cancer problem that will make the every child has a lap top
crap burry you in a God damn garbage bag. Even in Ontario not every child has
a lap top why is it crucial in Isingiro? Start with basic things build roads,
hospitals, clean water supply, clean air, end the pit latrine caricature for in
doing such you will enhance the lives of your people but you will create jobs
then grow step by step.
I sat on Kampala road with a woman laughing her head off for a guy had an H2
hummer and it is cute, I wondered if she knew that her kid was sucking carbon
monoxide out of it for it was idling.

What Dr. Johnson Nhuuhe has done in Isingiro you better visit that place and
see for yourself.
Virtually every school has a computer, yes there are villages but if the pace
continues you have Isingiro as the fastest growing region in Uganda . He took
the Millennium Village Development project to that place and they have been so
systematic in whatever they have done.especially school and the local
population health. In a few years there will be not hut and sickly village
people.

I am of the view that the; Executive, Ministry of Transport and Works, Ministry
of Environment should take a unilateral decision and evict all Matatus out of
Kampala City to 10 – 15 km. I must warn that if we do not do that NOW Lake
Victoria in not so distant future is going to collapse and Kampala will not
have water!
To prove my views; ask Makerere chemistry department to measure Volatile
Organic Compounds in Kampala air. They can buy laser torches to do and also
take water samples from Luzira or Gabba.
Likewise Ministry of Health could evaluate Kampala epidemiological level due to
polluted air, water, and soils and report back to government in one and half
month.
This should be accompanied with the government requesting KCCA within six
months implement a fully operational public transport system using all possible
modes (water, railway, buses) besides Matatus. Also people who are driving
should park their vehicles 1 km outside the city centre where KCCA should have
elevated metered parking.
Additionally all motor vehicle garages, bonds, warehousing, parking along major
roads should be outlawed by the Gen. Kayihura as matter of public security and
road safety. This should go hand in hand by reducing vehicles speed in the city
to 30 km /hr.
The above should be accompanied with Hon. Minister Tumwebaze – demanding within
a period of six months relocating all people leaving in slums and likewise
removing the slums all together. The process should be emulated by the Ministry
Lands, Housing and Urban Development by directing all slums in Uganda’s 14
municipalities to be demolished within six months.
I will suggest the government forces Roko to sell part of its company to the
government and hence funds sourced for Roko to expedite public housing
construction along the railway line 25 km outside of Kampala City where small
urban villages should start to germinate.
I am ready to explain further what I have observed if requested to.
