The last part of series 247

The very first solution to Acholi violence as I have argued all along in
this series is to push our politicians as hard as we so can to write very
strong and powerful laws on our country to protect ourselves from their
violence. Somehow in some way I strongly believe that with very tough laws
and hard sentences we can keep it in control. But with those laws we can
start by constitutionary write an amendment where they are declared violent.
Such an amendment in Uganda constitution will ban all Acholi and Langi from
owning a weapon. It will ban them from registering in any organization that
uses a gun including but not only limiting to Uganda armed forces let alone
Police force. By declaring them as such, it must always be a duty of an
Acholi/Langi to demonstrate why he or she should not be deemed violent.

The second solution, is actually very simple, when you closely look at
Buganda we have lived squarely with any one. When you look at Uganda today
you will see all national from all countries you name it. What many of you
actually fail to realize is that Balulu and Lugbaras have been in Luwero for
many many years. If you go for example in places like Kiwoko there are
sitting in their land no problem. The only people that have not moved into
Buganda are Langi and Acholi. The ones that are in Buganda limit them to
Kampala, and Kololo. Banda Kireka Kisenyi and Nakawa with as many drunkards
region of the city. What you do not have is Acholi sitting in villages as I
can quote Balulu in Kiwoko. The people that have moved into Buganda we live
happily with them, my God Banubbi have been in Bombo since I started to
reason and we never had a problem with them. If Acholi and Langi love
violence why do we force them to stop it? My God if you want to make babies
and kill them who am I to refuse you that right? If you prefer to hack a leg
off your wife for she has slaughtered a chicken without your consent fine by
me. If you want to cut vaginas out of your girls and raping them from age 6
let it be. There has to be a point one starts to wonder the larger loss we
as Ugandans can have if we just protect our boarders from this sheer
nonsense. How about if we send out buses and load every Mululu, Madi,
Lugbara and Banubbi out of the entire West Nile, we bring them south and we
blow up Karuma falls bridge? I am just sick and tired of violence and it
just bugs my mind why we cannot fix this. This solution might as well be
good to them for they will have a whole whack of land to Nimule where they
can hunt each other to satisfaction.

The third solution is very tough for me to put on record for I have opposed
it all my life and publicly. I have opposed creating a Federal government in
Uganda, for I think we are better off where we are, but if there is anyone
out there writing and selling Federalism, if he has a way to guarantee me
that it will protect the rest of us from Acholi violence, I will board the
federalism bus. Let me be very clear, that Federalism you sell must include
clear and very well structured laws to protect us from Acholi violence. It
must have laws where a region has a right to deny entry to any one
considered violent. It must have clear laws and clear demarcation with
writings that if you are violent you are not accepted in this part of the
country. If you have a federal structure where the rest of us will be
protected from Acholi violence, count me in. Somehow we all as Ugandans have
to star to take a very tough look against ourselves and wonder if we can be
protected from Acholi violence thus far.

Friends Acholi violence is real and we need to start discussing it but
candidly.
