They are being arrested to depict Museveni as a democratic man, at the end of
the day they are going to be released but paid. The hyper about Besigye is
arrested and my God he is not going to get photographs for registering, should
have educated you better than that in understanding why some of say that Uganda
is under anarchy.

Simon
I think the arresting of Mbabazi supporters is happening in western Uganda too.
And I just wonder what the security intends to benefit by it. Is it meant to
isolate Mbabazi as a person from the general public through intimidation?
What's is all this about?

John Nsubuga,

Point of correction; the president has been campaigning all along, not starting
last year as you say. However, my concern is about setting roadblocks in
eastern Uganda because of Amama Mbabazi; does it mean that is where his base
lies? Amama is from western Uganda, and he declared his bid for the job I think
in central Uganda, why such a jump to the east? I suspect this is just a
pretext and revision of past tactics of torture, physical and psychological.

May be Uganda really needs a fast change.

Hannah, but Mbabazi can never win an election in Uganda, why has president
Museveni gone into a panic mode considering that he has been campaigning since
last year in Kyankwanzi and other places?

Police have set up joint roadblocks with the army along major routes in Eastern
Uganda to crack down on the supporters of ex-prime minister Amama Mbabazi. The
roadblocks have been established along Mbale-Tororo, Mbale-Sironko,
Mbale-Soroti, Sironko-Kapchorwa, Tororo-Malaba, Tororo-Iganga, Mbale-Bududa and
Manafwa-Lwakahaka road. Between four and five plain clothed and uniformed
personnel are manning each of the road blocks. The security officials are
screening vehicles before they let them through.
