I haven't worked on that in a while! It's good to hear that someone is
still interested. First, if you're not familiar already, study Sun's PL&F
standard for Swing (com.sun.java.swing.plaf if you're 1.1,
javax.swing.plaf if you're 1.2+). Then we need to come up with a design:
standard conventions, fonts, colors, icons, etc. Or we could come up with
a theme interface, similar to the one that the "Metal" look and feel has.
If you're an artist or artistically inclined, then you've found the right
project on JOS! The goal is to make a L&F that looks and works in ways
that combines the best of our favorite OS's and maybe some features that
are missing. The nice thing about this, is you'll be able to use this L&F
on your current Java applications, and not worry about waiting around for
JOS to have a stable release. Ultimately, the L&F will be part of JOS.
