This appears to be an issue with a different impl for a now deprecated
table-tree viewer, on the mac. Because it is deprecated, it isn't likely to be
"fixed". I think the new tree-viewer widget became available with 3.1. So the
"right" fix probably is to upgrade to the new widgets.
