This is just a manifestation of the old problem of an annotator holding onto a FeatureStructure reference after the process call has finished. It is not so easy to catch without some major redesign, such as passing annotators CAS "handles" that forward to the real CAS but can be invalidated. Certainly this is not something to be attempted for 2.1. -Adam
