I thought there had been changes against trunk already, at least in documentation? I think if we need to make modifications for the release, we'll need to branch. So from my perspective, it's ok to check in stuff on the trunk now.

Changes for the release would need to be applied in 2 places, the branch off the tag, and the
trunk.  But hopefully, there won't be many...

So I think this is all right - but let's hear from the release manager tomorrow. -Marshall
