It is my understanding that the jars don't need the disclaimer.
That's how I read the incubator release guide, and I also checked
other incubating projects' distributions (which is not sufficient by
itself). So to my mind, this applies only to jars distributed via
maven, where it makes sense. However, it won't hurt to add the
disclaimer to the jars, it's not a big deal and we may eventually want
to do maven distros.
Sorry about the non-linear way I'm responding to this issue, I'm not
reading my mail in chronological order.
From your post on [EMAIL PROTECTED], it sounds like there are 2 classes of
changes: adding incubating disclaimer to the Jars, and the others. The
one about adding incubating disclaimer to the Jars is targeted for the
next release, I think (right?) but it sounds like the others you think
should get into this release (right?)?
I guess that's OK but that implies we have to restart the vote, etc.
(both on uima-dev and [EMAIL PROTECTED]). My slight preference would be to
not do this for this release, just to see if we can flush out other
"issues" before going through all of this again. And if no issues come
out - I don't think there's much downside to waiting till the next
release to do these changes (please correct if wrong).
Other opinions?
