I still see only version 2.2.1. when using

Yes, I think so. The eclipse-update-site is being redirected to the
eclipseUpdateSite (the old one). I've removed the .hraccess, but my
guess is that the web server has cached that... I don't know how long
it takes it to "forget" this redirect.
