There have been some reported issues with IBM JVMs that are supposedly fixed in
SR2. See this, for instance: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-3580 where
maven 2.0.9 is failing with IBM Java 1.6 SR1. When SR2 is available, let's
see if it fixes things. We could also try and see about "working around" the
issue, but that may be difficult - the triggers may be in library routines we
don't control.
