The fix has been packaged into a replacement for the CDE Eclipse plugin. The UIMA project downloads page has been updated with information on how to get this.

The main UIMA website has been updated with info about the fix for the
Component Description Editor (CDE) Eclipse plugin. Several of the users
noticed and reported a problem where some of the actions, such as adding
a new type, didn't work. This was fixed in
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-364.
