A couple of things that might help:

1) Be sure you've installed the JCasGen plugin and the UIMA Runtime
plugins as well - the CDE editor depends on these.

2) You might be able to see what's going wrong by looking at the Eclipse
Configuration details (click on Help -> About Eclipse SDK ->
Configuration Details ) In there you should see the lines starting with:

org.apache.uima.desceditor
org.apache.uima.jcas.jcasgenp
org apache.uima.runtime

and the lines should end with [Starting] or [Resolved].

Yeah, I installed EMF 2.3.0 from the update site and then restarted with -clean, then installed the UIMA plugins and restarted with -clean again and when I right click and try to do Open With -> Component Descriptor Editor, the option isn't even there. It's not under Other... either. I'll try it again I guess...

Hi Andrew,

what do you mean by "it"? I have installed the UIMA 2.1 plugins with
the official Eclipse 3.3, with some of the Europa core plugins installed.
I was able to create a new analysis engine descriptor, make a couple of
changes and save it.

Did you remember to install EMF before you installed the UIMA plugins?

I can't get it to work in the official release of Eclipse Europa...has
anyone else had luck? It was working fine in 3.3RC4 (I think it was RC4).

Hi,

Is there any reason why the Eclipse plug-in is not supporting editing
friendly the CPE config file?
