To support efforts at Universities that focus on teaching, research, or
community building around Apache UIMA, IBM has announced the UIMA
Innovation Grant program for 2007.

This is a world-wide program, with awards in the $10,000 to $30,000
range. For details and information on how to submit proposals, please
visit

http://www.ibm.com/university and click on the link "Award
Opportunity" in the middle section of the page (in the top right
quadrant), and then scroll down to IBM Innovation Awards in the
Competitions section. Or you can just click on this link:

The deadline for initiating proposals is in about 2
weeks, and the deadline for submitting proposals is about 3 weeks away. This was announced earlier on the Apache "community" mailing list, and elsewhere, but I thought it might also be of interest to some on this mailing list, of course, and regret that I did not post this earlier, here. Please note that you have to be a full time faculty member at a University in order to submit proposals; if you are not, but are in contact with someone who is, who might be interested, please let them know of it also.
