The javadoc for the AnalysisEngineMetadata.getDelegateAnalysisEngineMetadata() method states that some implementations might always return null for this method. I am using the default implementation ( AnalysisEngineMetadata_impl) and it does seem to return null even for an aggregate analysis engine. Could someone confirm that this is intentional, maybe I am missing something.
