TikaAnnotator

What's the purpose of FileSystemCollectionReader in TikaAnnotator?  It 
looks like it does the same tika-based text extraction and annotation as 
MarkupAnnotator.  Why would one use this collection reader instead of 
composing MarkupAnnotator with a normal collection reader that just puts 
the content (or a URL) in the CAS?
