I'm pleased to announce UKNOF24 will be taking place on Thursday
17th January, sponsored by Timico and A10 Networks, and kindly hosted by
Timico at their facility in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
If you are planning to attend, registration is now open (*) at:
http://indico.uknof.org.uk/confRegistrationFormDisplay.py?confId=25
Please register as soon as you can to ensure we can provide catering and
a name badge for everyone.
Our confirmed presentations include talks on 100Gb/s Coherent Optical
networking, a Multicast how-to, CPE WAN Management Protocol, and the
basics of robust IXP configuration. We're also having our first session
in a while featuring updates from UK and other IXP operators, and there
will be a chance for attendees to pick up a RIPE Atlas probe.
We've had a good response to our call for presentations - expect more
speakers to be confirmed shortly, and we still have space for
a few more submissions.
Information about the venue location is available at:
http://www.timico.co.uk/contact-us/offices
Although the meeting venue is well-connected for the A1 and the East
Coast main rail line, note that if you need accommodation before or
after the meeting, availability is very limited in Newark (and nearby
Lincoln) itself. We therefore recommend central Nottingham (30 mins
journey away), where there's a range of hotel options.
We always appreciate volunteer help in setting up and running UKNOF
events. If you're interested in helping at UKNOF24 or future meetings,
we've setup a new mailing list to co-ordinate this, please consider
joining it at:
https://lists.uknof.org.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/volunteers
Finally, LINX have kindly agreed to sponsor a social event before the
meeting, and there's likely to be drinks at a travel-handy Newark pub
afterwards.
I'd like to thank Timico for hosting UKNOF24, and wish you all a happy
and successful 2013
Keith
(UKNOF Chair)
(*) Note that further to the successful deployment of the Indico
open-source conference management platform for presentations at UKNOF23,
we're expanding its use to registrations this time, so you may find the
form/process a little different from what you're used to.
