You claim: "There are a number of quite crude but effective remedies against
current amplification attacks". 

I'd really like to know where in the chain you apply these "number of effective
rememdies". To tell me that "it should be obvious" is not as informative as I'd
expect from fellow operators. 

In September 2012 one of our customers was targeted with a 120+ Gbit/sec
DNS amplification attack. I'm open to suggestions.
