SImon, Look at Virgin. Their HCS (High Capacity Services) product is basically Transmode DWDM wavelength services and can be quite competitive. In areas where Virgin have a network footprint, you'll find they have fibre into the cable chambers of most exchanges, if not in the exchange themselves. TalkTalk have a huge number of their unbundled exchanges backhauled with Virgin HCS.
Also don't forget Openreach's own EBD and OSA products. Both are optical services that can do 1Gig or 10Gig. EBD is only available between certain exchanges, but if you're genuinely looking at 10Gig, OSA has a 35KM standard reach and you can add extra waves on as you need them for not much more cost. Hope that helps. C -- Charlie Boisseau Fluency Communications Ltd. e. I'd be looking for the space for about 6-9 months while we unbundle the exchange ourselves, although the backhaul could be a longer term commitment for the right price. I guess that's a "no" then :) Extending the question a bit - any recommendations for carriers to talk to for backhaul out of BT Exchanges, in the 1G-10G range? As well as Liverpool Royal, I've got a list of 14 others that I'm likely to unbundle. I've got pricing from SSE who have lit some of the ones I'm looking at. I've been speaking to GEO who say they're in quite a lot of exchanges, but they want to sell me dark fibre solutions rather than individual circuits/waves. I know that Entanet and Exponential-E are in some exchanges, and am talking to them, but initial requests reveal that they don't tend to have huge amounts of spare capacity to sell. I'm also talking to BT Wholesale. So, who else should I be talking to? TIA, Simon
