Hi Gavin, all,

in addition to the kind words Gord, Simon & others said about RIPE Atlas, I would like to mention that we are in the beta-testing phase of the "status checks" based on the measurements you specify, that would enable you to incorporate results from RIPE Atlas into your
own monitoring tools (nagios, icinga, ...).

I will let you know when we have this in place for all the users.

If you are a frequent RIPE Atlas user, please consider subscribing to the mailing list: http://www.ripe.net/mailman/listinfo/ripe-atlas/

Also, for the insight in your routing, take a look at RIPEstat:
https://stat.ripe.net

This is the interface to both RIS data (Routing Information Service) and whois/IRR data. The most powerful features are
* BGPlay - visualization tool of route announcements & withdrawals
over time
* widgets that you can build into your own website
* "BGP update activity widget", with "monitoring" feature
(that self-updates periodically)
* .. or enables to compare ASN & prefix, or two ASNs
(example: AS3333)
https://stat.ripe.net/widget/bgp-update-activity#w.starttime=2013-10-30T10%3A00%3A00&w.endtime=2013-11-13T10%3A00%3A00&w.resource=AS3333

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Vesna

Hi all,

So we're monitoring everything possible inside our network but
wondered what others do to check routes that come in to your network
via transit for latency/pl etc.?
