exactly, tech isn't the problem or cure - it may cause more problems if they try to get around it, scanning codes may cause resentment in itself. We also have a lot of cameras in some stock areas at shorebases that point towards shelves for some critical spares to ensure we don't have AVICOS cockups if stuff isn't actually where it should be for a rapid deployment (we also have them in the go-bag areas, very handy to see if one is missing and can be used to see who's out of the office at any given moment in time). For stock control cameras requires boxes to be stacked properly though so labels are visible to the cams and enough light for them to read the labels. They aren't officially there for theft prevention but anyone using the stock areas will think twice because of that, I'm sure.
