Well, you did ask "what should I expect" :-)

Regarding purchasing IPv4 space, someone might point out that for €2,000
joining fee and €1,600 per annum, a subsidiary of your company can join
RIPE and get a /20 as a new member.

I think there is a minimum two year wait before the subsidiary can then be
absorbed into the parent company, transferring the LIR assets in, but I
don't recall where I read this "rule".

That puts the upper cost limit at €5,200 per /20 of IPv4 or about £3.75 per
IP.
