UKNOF’s first Professional Training Course - The Technical and Business
Considerations of Secure DNS Deployment - takes place between 2pm and 5.30pm on
Thursday 17 September in Sheffield (immediately after UKNOF32), and will be
delivered by industry veteran and DNS expert, Jim Reid (RTFM LLP).
The course will provide a description of Secure DNS, the technology and how it
works. It will show how to configure popular DNS server implementations to use
DNSSEC for signing and validating DNS data. An overview of the tools to support
these activities will be given, along with some guidance on how to do DNSSEC
troubleshooting.
The course will also describe the impact of DNSSEC on existing network
infrastructure and DNS operations and how these may need to be reviewed and
changed: procedures, customer support and helpdesk issues, provisioning
systems, middleware and so on. Advice on how to prepare for DNSSEC deployment
will also be given: checklists, testing, documentation, migration schemes and
key management considerations.
Course slides will also be available in PDF format for you to keep.
Lunch will be provided to the training course delegates from 1.15pm. The course
starts at 2pm and will be delivered in three 50 minute segments with a couple
of breaks in between.
