I'm currently considering upgrading my 5 year-old PC to something new and shiny, and it's crossed my mind that a 40" 4K TV actually has about the same dot-pitch as the 24" Dell Ultrasharps I currently use two of, but with more pixels and no joins. I don't care about higher dot-pitch ("retina") screens - just MOAR PIXELS.

Has the collective any experience of this kind of setup? Having the back wall of my desk be all pixels is quite appealing, at least in my imagination. I don't care much about gaming in 4K, although being able to use the TV at 1080P without too much in the way of artifacts would be nice. However, it seems I'll need to get a reasonably beefy graphics card just to get HDMI 2.0 output for decent refresh rates at ultra hd resolution.

Thanks for any insight,

Howie
