However the fact that our corporate infrastructure is all Microsoft predicates that field engineer laptops need to be Windows. I don’t have the time to maintain the IT headache trying to push Linux or Mac platforms on non-technical staff. Throughput testing is maybe 1 out of 10 apps they need, with Outlook/Word/Excel high on the list. Our field engineers are all from a telco background, so handheld testers are in their vocabulary.
