Incase anyone is interested I ended up placing an order with Tim's company.
Their sales rep contacted me and miraculously provided me with even
better pricing for the obscure products I was after than I was getting
pre-Brexit, thanks to the "Cisco excess" scheme.
Happy days :)

pay some import duty and VAT on kit coming from the US.
most larger networking kit suppliers can quote in US$, so if you do
this, you will not end up losing out due to exchange-rate price gouging
in the supply chain, even if you still end up paying the brexit premium.
