The article itself is a summary about the recent changes to IPv6 address generation. Essentially, table IPv6 addresses have traditionally been generating by embedding the underlying MAC address into the Interface Identifier. CUrrent specs now recommend against this, and recommend that RFC7217 is employed. A number of implementations (MacOS, Fedora, Raspbian) already do this. The article summarizes the properties of the algorithm specified in RFC7217, lists implementations known to already ship with RFC7217, and analyzes possible implications. I thought this would be of interest to the group. But since some folks complained, I will refrain from sending this ind of stuff again. Thanks!
