This is puzzling me.

Yesterday morning we had the vacuum cleaner running when it appeared to cut out. At first we thought it had broken, but we soon discovered that there was no power to the socket, and that in fact multiple rooms now had no power.

I checked the consumer unit but none of the breakers had tripped.

The really odd bit is that 15 or 20 minutes later it all just came back to life, and AFAIK has stayed that way since.

I'm mystified as to how that could happen, except possibly a faulty RCD.

Any bright ideas as to what could have happened?

cheers,

Ray
