FWIW, back when I last did operations stuff for a living at AS8844 I
wrote the RADIUS server that we used in Java, and people knock that as a
language too.
Whenever we had an issue on our BT Central the BT engineers were very
surprised just how quickly our users were able to re-authenticate.
Apparently most other ISP's RADIUS platforms would end up with a load of
failed sessions (or something like that - it's been 12 years so I forget
the details) because they couldn't cope with the sudden in-rush of new
connection attempts.
I don't claim the NodeJS system would be fast, and it is only an
experimental framework, but hopefully someone might find it useful :)
