Hi all,

Apologies for the scattergun approach on this one - but I don't seem to have yet worked out any reasonable way to speak to anyone about this.

TL;DR: If you're from Vodafone, please could you get in touch about what looks like a congestion issue in/around your peering edge.

Since about 10AM this morning, I've been getting alerts for latency to a number of devices which I've subsequently traced back to all being on the end of a single IPSec VPN connection.

I had, initially, assumed that this was daytime congestion with everyone working from home (or similar).  Fast forward to this evening, and it's not tailed off, or got any worse.

I've started digging into this as it looks like a very congested link that's unhappy at/around the edge of Vodafone, as ICMP echo to the tunnel endpoint seems to be also affected (therefore, it's not just the IPSec VPN itself).

Annoyingly, this doesn't appear to be an issue from everywhere, only routes passing through ae29-xcr1.lns.cw.net and/or as6762-gw-xcr1.lns.cw.net which seems to be only a small subset of routes.

Although I've raised it with the DC provider our side, I'm not expecting much out of them unless they happen to have a useful contact at Vodafone.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can assist/point me in the right direction of how I should report this when I don't even contract with Vodafone (and Customer of my Customer's IT department is largely too busy to deal with something like this as it's probably not actually breaking anything for them).

Regards,

Chris Malton
