This notification is issued as a special message to all Openreach customers 
following an incident at Newcastle Central TE.
As notified through operational communications, and in the briefing issued 
yesterday, we experienced an incident on 23 July 2020 at Newcastle Central TE, 
which caused power loss, impacting service to a large number of end customers.
Access was initially restricted, due to safety issues, but our teams were able 
to begin recovery work yesterday. The teams have been working extremely hard 
through the night and into today, and have managed to restore most of the 
services affected. Some residual impact is still evident for services provided 
over PSTN, SDH and SDIN which are still being addressed. A further update will 
follow upon full restoration.
We apologise for any inconvenience this incident may have caused you and your 
customers and we thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked 
on the recovery.
