Hi all,
Some of you may remember my panel call from UKNOF51 (*video
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SELyF_d6Zdw>*, *slides
<https://indico.uknof.org.uk/event/62/contributions/889/>*), but if you
don’t: I’m a PhD student from the University of York, and my supervisors
and I are hoping to hold a panel session at UKNOF52 (27-28 Sept) about *Secure
Network Communication Across the Internet
<https://sites.google.com/york.ac.uk/sncati/panel>*.
We are interested in industry perspectives on how we can protect
confidentiality in Internet traffic, for both consumers and businesses –
we’re hoping to use these to inform our research – and we want to focus on
the themes of:
- *Ensuring Privacy in Private Networking*
Focusing on the confidentiality property in Internet-based virtual
private networking.
- *Facilitating a Secure Internet*
Focusing on how network operators can assist in carrying and protecting
confidential Internet traffic.
- *Governance & Motivation in Internet Routing*
Focusing on the governance and motivations of network operators in the
Internet space (and some of the legal/political context around this).
To make this possible, *we’re looking for people who might be interested in
being a panellist* – whether you have your own thoughts on these topics, or
know someone who you think would be interesting to hear from at UKNOF52.
We’re also wanting to know *what questions you think we should be asking*.
We’ve placed a small selection of our thoughts on our website
<https://sites.google.com/york.ac.uk/sncati/panel>, but we’d love to hear
your interests or suggestions too.
If any of this seems even slightly interesting to you, you'd be interested
in being a panellist, you have any thoughts or suggestions for questions,
or you'd like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch with me by
email ([email protected]), or feel free to jot a quick response in
our Google Form <https://forms.gle/okk71JTLTNFigy1v7>.
Thank you so much for your support with this session, and I look forward to
hearing from some of you soon.
Kind regards,
Josh
