Hi Elisabeth,

The problems in your previous two mails had to do with createBasicObject.

The release note for ULC 6.1 has a section about Migrating fro ULC 6.0.4 to
ULC 6.1. Moreover, ULC Extension Guide of ULC 6.1 describes the new
Extension mechanism and API which has been considerably simplified.

As for Jemmy:

In every TestCase you must be doing setUp().

In the setUp() method you must be calling AutomatedGUITesting.init(String[]
args);

AutomatedGUITesting.init() in turn calls DevelopmentRunner and passes the
args to it.

So you need to pass the coder-registry-provider in the args.

You can modify AutomatedGUITesting.init() (you have the source code) and add
the following srtings to the args to specify coders to DevelopmentRunner:

"-client-coder-registry-provider", " <class name>",
"-server-coder-registry-provider", " <class name>".

I hope this helps.

Thanks and regards,

Janak

Subject: [ULC-developer] RE: Date Component widget

Hi,
The problems I have mentioned in my last two emails have been solved. We
switched to the Date Chooser component and added a text field to display the
date as in the Date Component from the community site.
Our application now seems to work fine after having been migrated to ULC
6.1. However, I cannot seem to find a way to register the coders so that
the test cases will run. We use Jemmy for testing. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Subject: Date Component widget
Hi,
We are trying to migrate our DateComponent widget to ULC 6.1. We are
running into a problem because in the UIDateChooserDialog, the
createBasicObject is returning a DatePickerPanel (a subclass of a JPanel),
which is causing a class cast exception. What should we be returning
instead of the JPanel that won't require a total rewrite of the
DatePickerPanel?
Thanks.
